What Do You Think Of Official Account Builds
What OSRS account are you playing? A main? A level-3 skiller? A 1-defence pure? During the Winter Summit of 2022, the Official Account Builds was introduced to us but finally failed in the poll with a pass rate of 66.8%.
Although the project will not come to the game, Jagex still plans to do something to support the niche playstyle players.
HiScores Change
Jagex will add some additional filtering options to the HiScores system on February 15th:
1-Defence Pure: Accounts that stay in 1 defence
Level 3 Skillers: Accounts with no combat skills leveled up
It will encourage those hard-working niche players. You may be surprised by a level 3 account with a 99 slayer. Of course, it is hard for players to get the 99-slayer achievement without combat skills. Perhaps this is why Jagex wants to make more niche players achieve a greater sense of honor through this change.
Potential Changes
Jagex still wants to bring back Official Account Builds with a different design. But there will be some changes:
Removed 10 HP Pures
Because there are some existing 10 HP pures who have spent a lot of time and energy on their accounts in the past years, the build will devalue their dedication. And also, it will seriously affect the lower-level PVP. So Jagex removed it.
Restrictions & Related Changes
Restricted builds cannot complete quests or equip gear if they do not meet the requirements.
For certain builds, you will get XP lamps instead of skills experience after completing some OSRS quest (like Nature Spirit) to unlock some areas.
Prestige & Experience Gaining
If you stick to the restrictions, you will hold your ‘Prestige’ status. However, if you break the restriction, you will lose it. For example, if you have gained some defence experience on a 1-defence pure, you would lose your Prestige, although the XP would be blocked. If you have gained enough experience for the next level, you will lose your restricted account status and be removed from the HiScores.
Another method is to block any action that could give players experience in the chosen restricted skills. For example, if you do not want to gain WC experience, you cannot chop any tree. And if you are a 1-defence pure, you cannot use any attack option that would usually grant Defence XP.
Of course, the second method is against the spirit of the restrictions. And also, how about the quest-rewarded experience?
These account builds have always existed. Do you think it is necessary for Jagex to change the game? Do you want Jagex to make some additional changes to the current gameplay, or add some new game content (such as the released quest Secrets of the North, and the upcoming Desert Treasure II)?
