The Final Dawn Quest, New Boss in Varlamore

Hi, everyone. Here comes the latest news about the OSRS quest, boss,in Varlamore. At present, these new contents are in the stage of questionnaire survey, and it is uncertain when they will be launched.

The Final Dawn

The Final Dawn is an upcoming master-level quest, one of the Varlamore quest series. In the quest, you will learn more about the history of Varlamore.

There are still no more details on the requirements and rewards. But, the Old School Runescape team introduced a new Melee weapon, one of the rewards for completing the quest.

The new Melee weapon requires a 60 attack level to equip. And it’s roughly on par with the Dragon Scimitar. Here is a picture of the comparison of the two weapons.

The new weapon also has a special attack, costing 50% of your special attack energy. When you use the special attack, your next single attack will increase with 50% accuracy and a monumental 50% extra damage on hit. If you hit your target successfully, it will apply a burn effect to the target, dealing 10 damage over 40 ticks (24 seconds). If in a muti-combat area, the effect will also apply to enemies within one tile of your target.

New Boss & Rewards

The new boss is different from other existing bosses. When you defeat it, it will burrow further underground to the deeper levels and become more powerful. There are 8 floors. Each deeper floor increases the chance of receiving unique drops. And some unique drops only drop at more dangerous levels.

Please note that only the unique drop chance will increase, not including the basic-level loot. And, if you die at any level, you will get nothing.

The new boss will drop some unique items: Avernic Catalyst, Demonic Mark, Diabolical Aegis, and Thrall Upgrade resource.

Avernic Catalyst

With 80 Smithing, you can combine the Avernic Catalyst with the Primordial, Pegasian, and Eternal boots (all three boots are needed) to make a pair of new boots called Avernic Treads. Also, you need 80 Ranged, 80 Defence, 80 Strength, and 80 Magic to wear the newly made boots. The boots are tradable.

If you have no 80 Smithing, don't worry. You can also sell the Avernic Catalyst through the Grand Exchange.

Demonic Mark

You can upgrade any of your imbued God Capes to make a new best-in-slot Magic cape with the Demonic Mark. The new cape will still be untradable because the imbued God Capes are from completing Mage Arena II, one of the OSRS Miniquest. However, the Demonic Mark is tradable.

You will need 75 Magic to wear the new cape.

Diabolical Aegis

The Diabolical Aegis is a new tradable, 2-hand Demonbane Crush weapon for Melee use. It will reset your attack delay once you kill a demon monster, as well as give you a 25% damage reduction from the demon monsters' attacks.

It requires 75 Attack and 75 Strength to equip. Also, you must have completed the Final Dawn quest.

Thrall Upgrade resource

You can put these resource items in your ammo slot to augment your Thralls with an additional effect that increases their overall DPS.

When your Thralls despawn, their spirit will travel back towards you in a straight line, dealing a small amount of damage to enemies on the path.
