OSRS Quest Speedrunning - New Quest Activity
In 2020, the OSRS team mentioned the quest speedrunning project, although it was only an ideation prototype. And a couple of days ago, they announced that the project was fully-fledged. They are committed to this project and have achieved some results. And the beta will begin on September 14th, 2022.
What's Quest Speedrunning?
The Quest Speedrunning is a quest-based activity that you can only play in specific worlds. It will not affect your main account profiles as these worlds have separate profile saves. In short, complete the quest you choose as quickly as possible, which is similar to the competitive ranking. The less time you use, the higher the rank you will be. At the same time, you will get more Quest Speedrunning points. And you can challenge the same quest repeatedly as many times as you want.
How to Play?
Firstly, you must choose a Quest Speedrunning world and log in.
Open your quest interface panel and select a quest you want to challenge.
Click the quest name, then a Quest Speedrunning menu will appear, which shows you the details and the times to aim for.
Click the Set Up Speedrun button to start.
Quest Speedrunning Rewards
You will receive Quest Speedrunning points and unlock the trophies by hitting specific milestones. These points will transfer to your main account profile so that you can purchase snazzy new items for your main account character.
Ideas of Rewards
We think it's a good idea, but they need to add more attractive rewards for the activity.
How about the quest outfits and quest boss pets?
Some unique item (like a pair of boots) for running faster in the quests?
Some weapon for dealing more damages on quest boss?
Like the deadman, will there be an OSRS Quest Running competition in the future?
