osrs nightmare zone guide

The OSRS Nightmare Zone is a combat-based minigame in which you need to kill some quest bosses for reward points. And you can use the points to imbue the Black mask, Slayer helm, Salve amulet, Archer ring, Berserker ring, etc.

Requirements

Recommended skills: 60+ Attack, Strength, and Defence (70+ for Dharok setup); 51+ Hitpoints and 43+ Prayer.

Locator orb - Obtained by giving Ava an inert locator orb during Dragon Slayer II.

Or dwarven rock cake - Made during the Freeing the Mountain Dwarf subquest of Recipe for Disaster.

Some OSRS Gold coins.

Be sure you have completed at least five of the following OSRS quests:

The Ascent of Arceuus, The Depths of Despair, Fight Arena, Lost City, Mountain Daughter, Tree Gnome Village, Vampyre Slayer, What Lies Below, and Witch's House.

We only list the bosses highly recommended for you to use melee to kill.

Gear Setup & Potions

If you haven't played the minigame before, we suggest you wear the armour with Prayer bonuses and use the best weapons depending on your attack level. Bring some Prayer potions and super combat potions.

If you have earned some reward points and have 70+ Attack, Strength, and Defence, you can use the Dharok armour with Overload & Absorption (purchased from Dom Onion's Reward Shop with the Reward points).

Getting There

Using the Nightmare Zone Grouping teleport is the best method.

How to Play

Starting Out

Deposit some gold coins in the coffer in multiples of 1000, to a maximum of 262,143,000.

Right-click on Dominic Onion, and choose the Dream option. There are three modes: practice, endurance, and rumble (you can solo or make a group up to five players) with 'Normal' and 'Hard' difficulty. Then select a dream(the cost varies). Choose yes and pay for it. We suggest you choose easy ones at the start. Please note that you will not gain reward points in the practice mode.

Click the Plinth to "drink potion" and start the minigame. Disable the other bosses not listed above.

For New Starters

For low-level players, use Protect from Melee prayer and gears with Prayer bonuses (don't forget the prayer potions). For high-level players, use Dharok armour with a Locator orb or dwarven rock cake.

Turn on Protect from Melee and kill these bosses to gain reward points. If you don't meet the requirement for using the Dharok armour, keep killing the bosses with this method.

After gaining some reward points, end the game, and purchase some Overload and Absorption (if you can wear the Dharok armour).

After Purchasing the Potions

Take three bottles of Overload potion (12 doses) and 15-20 bottles of Absorption potion.

Start a new game.

Drink a dose of Overload potion (be sure you have 51+ HP), and drink some Absorption potion (one dose counteracts 50 damage). Use the Locator orb or dwarven rock cake to lower your HP to one,

and keep using it when your HP is higher. After drinking the Overload potion, don't use the Locator orb/dwarven rock cake immediately. Or you will die.

Keep killing the bosses for reward points.

Power-ups

Power-ups only spawn in Rumble mode, giving you a temporary advantage.

There are four types of power-ups:

The Recurrent damage (red) adds an additional hit, dealing a 3/4 of your current damage. And it will last for 45 seconds.

The Zapper (purple) deals damage on monsters nearby with a max damage of 8. And it will last for one minute.

The Power surge fills the player's special attack energy and regenerates it by 20% per tick.

The Ultimate force (white) kills all the bosses that are in the minigame area. But you don't gain reward points.

Rewards

After defeating each boss, you will gain Nightmare Zone reward points, used for purchasing items, potions, and upgrading the Black mask, Slayer helm, Salve amulet, Archer ring, Berserker ring, etc.
