OSRS Money Making Guide - Killing Brutal Black Dragon
The Brutal black dragon is one of the slayer monsters that require a level 77 Slayer to kill. Many players camp there for profits because of the high drop rates of rune and dragon items.
Where is Brutal Black Dragon
You can only find it in the Dragon's Den, the north-western section of the Catacombs of Kourend.
How to Get There
There are two ways to the Brutal black dragon:
Teleport to the entrance of the Catacombs of Kourend through Xeric's talisman with the "Xeric's Heart" option (the Architectural Alliance miniquest completion required). Or use the Kourend Castle Teleport spell on the Standard Spellbook (unlocked by reading transportation incantations, a book found in the Arceuus Library) with a level 69 Magic. Enter the Catacombs and then run to the north-western to find the Brutal black dragon.
Don't forget to climb up the vine to unlock the shortcut to the Brutal black dragon in the future before you leave. After unlocked, you can teleport to the lovakite furnace in the center of Lovakengj through Xeric's talisman with the "Xeric's Inferno" option. Then follow the path to the east, south, and southeast. You can find the hole to the Brutal black dragon southeast of the church.
How to Kill the Brutal Black Dragon
The Brutal black dragon uses Melee, Magic, and long-range Dragonfire to attack players. You can use Protect from Magic and an Antifire potion to protect from the damages completely, not standing in its Melee range.
The most common method to kill the Brutal black dragon is Ranged:
Weapon & ammo:
If you choose the Dragon hunter crossbow and Diamond bolts (e), use a twisted buckler, Dragonfire ward, odium ward, or book of law as the secondary weapon in the shield slot.
You can also use a Twisted bow and Amethyst arrows.
Armour:
The best armour is the Elite Void Knight equipment. Or you can use Black dragonhide or Armadyl armour.
Don't forget to bring some food, Extended antifires potions, Divine ranging potions, and Prayer potions.
Drops and Profit
The Brutal black dragon always drops Dragon bones and two Black dragonhide at 100% rates. It has a higher rate to drop rune and dragon items. And it also drops Dragon dart tips, noted Runite ores, Dragon arrowtips, Dragon javelin heads, and Draconic visages.
If you are on a slayer task from Konar quo Maten, you can also get Brimstone keys as an additional drop. Then you can open the Brimstone chest for more loots.
Besides, like the other monsters in the Catacombs of Kourend, the Brutal black dragon drops the Dark totem top, bottom, and base for Dark totem. Then you can kill Skotizo with the totem for more profits.
The average value of one dragon kill is around 28,000 OSRS gold coins, and you can get 1,000,000 -2,000,000 profits per hour depending on the item's price and your luck & kill speed. Please note that the profits don't include Brimstone keys and Dark totem pieces.
