OSRS Minigame Guardians of the Rift Changes
Based on player feedback, the OSRS team has made some changes and hotfixes to the minigame of Guardians of the Rift so that players can have a better game experience. Let's focus on some of the improvements today.
Current Changes
Players no longer need to bring their Pure essence to participate in the game.
A Deposit Pool was placed in the game area instead of the Bank Chest because its existence became meaningless due to the first change.
The total number of players participating in the game increased from 60 to 100.
During phase 1, if the number of players does not reach the limit, other players can join the game.
You can now use cells on full-health Barriers to gain extra contribution points with no Runecraft XP.
The contribution points you could gain increased from 1,000 to 1,200.
Abyssal Lantern with Oak or Redwood logs increased the contribution cap by 5% (1260).
Abyssal Lantern with Yew logs increased the contribution cap by 10% (1320).
You can now use the fancy timers to see the changing time of the entrances of the Runecraft Alters and when the shortcut portal closes.
You can now purchase Raiments of the Eye outfit pieces with fewer Abyssal Pearls: Hat of the Eye (500 - 400), Robe Top of the Eye (400 - 350), Robe Bottom of the Eye (400 - 350), Boots of the Eye (300 - 250).
You can now right-click on the Ring of Elements to uncharge it.
You can now right-click on the barrier to choose the ''Quick-pass'' option.
Future Changes
Based on the current acquisition of activity points, they may change the points mechanic later to balance it.
They may adjust the game difficulty in the later stage to fit a small group game or solo.
They may extend the 'winning phase' so that players can use up their guardian stones. But guardian stones can't be used up. Why not add a game end-time warning?
They plan to add the Guardians of the Rift minigame to the HiScores.
In addition to these changes, there will be some more later. The birth of a new OSRS minigame takes time to perfect, although they have done a lot of preparation and testing before its launch.
