OSRS Guardians of the Rift Minigame Quick Guide
Great news for Runecrafters! Guardians of the Rift, the new minigame for the Runecraft skill launched in the OSRS game.
What's Guardians of the Rift
Guardians of the Rift is a new safe non-combat Runecraft minigame. You can get some Runecraft experience and related rewards by playing the minigame.
Requirements & Start Place
Temple of the Eye quest completion and level 27 Runecraft is required to play the minigame. The portal to Guardians of the Rift is in the basement of the Wizard's Tower. You can teleport to the Tower using the Necklace of passage (buy from GE), the fairy ring code: d i s, and the Grouping teleport for fast reaching.
Game Play
What you need to do is power up and defend the Great Guardian.
Power up
1. Mine the Guardian Fragments and Combine them into Guardian Essence at a workbench.
2. Imbue the combined essence at Runecraft Altar to obtain Guardian Stones.
3. Feed the Guardian Stones to the Great Guardian to power up it.
Defend
You can defend the Great Guardian by creating some barriers and guardians.
1. Pick up a cell near the entrance.
2. Place it in a cell tile to create a barrier. Or interact with the Guardian piles nearby to create a smaller rift guardian.
You can also upgrade the barriers.
1. Pick up an uncharged cell near the entrance.
2. Interact with any Runecraft Altar to charge it.
3. Interact with the cell tile you want to upgrade.
You will gain Runecraft experience while helping the Great Guardian fight the Abyssal creatures.
Rewards
After each game, you will get the elemental and catalytic energy as rewards. And you can use them to exchange for some reward items from Rewards Guardian. The reward items are regular runes, talismans, and some unique items like Abyssal pearls, Intricate pouch, Catalytic talisman, Abyssal protector, and some Abyssal dyes. Abyssal pearls can be used to purchase helpful items for training Runecrafting from Temple Supplies, the reward shop. The unique items are as follows:
