OSRS Game Jam II: Projects Preview - Part Two
Today we will continue introducing the projects created by J-Mods in Jam II in November. Please note that these projects are just concepts, meaning the OSRS team will not make them in the game soon.
Custom Outfit Loadouts
You can make a Stylist's Mirror in your bedroom (player-owned house) and use it to access all the equipable items, no matter in the bank or housing storage locations. But remember that you should ask the butler to retrieve any items stored in the bank.
You can also save outfits as preset loadouts and switch between them quickly in the mirror.
Wilderness Expansion Revisited
The wilderness expansion is a hot project created during the first Game Jam. Mod Soffan returned to the project and made some changes. She also created the concept art for a Torva Ornament Kit.
Port Management
Fremennik Port Manager will be a new OSRS minigame - an extension to Kingdom Management. You can set up a port, hire crews, build a boat, and complete different missions for resource and cosmetic non-tradeable rewards.
You can also unlock new islands to train your skills and beat new monsters for unique drops like the cosmetic item for the Neitiznot Faceguard.
Holiday Island
Whenever a holiday event comes in OSRS, you can visit the island after completing the event. It will be themed to the current holiday.
On the island, you can participate in some activities: Fishing, Cutting ice-covered trees, fighting against creatures, etc. And also, you will find some Holiday implings, a boss that spawns every 30 minutes around the island. There is also a Holiday Stall for thieving.
You will get resources, drops, and Holiday Points by doing these. You can spend the points at the holiday reward shop.
Community Event Support
Party Popper - A new tool for J-Mods that builds on the functionality offered by the Rotten Potato. J-Mods can also use it to bestow an ‘event organiser’ tag to players, showing above players’ heads and in the chat icon space.
Varrock Herald - The newspaper never updated! But you may find it has new content someday: the community initiatives! You may have a chance to see yourself in the newspaper.
Notice Board & Broadcast - You will find a Notice board on the UI linked to community-run events. And the broadcasts will appear in the game, which will advertise these events.
We hope you like the ideas created during the second Game Jam.
