OSRS Easy-to-Kill Boss - King Black Dragon Guide

Today we want to introduce another easy-to-kill boss - the King Black Dragon (KBD), a strong dragon (level 276) with three heads. You can only access its lair from the Wilderness. Although its lair is not part of the Wilderness, KBD is still considered a Wilderness boss. That means it will have a chance to drop the Dragon pickaxe.

Warning: You will go into deep Wilderness, so don't bring anything you are not willing to lose. You can only save three (four with Protect Item Prayer activated) most valuable items on death if not skulled.

Skill Recommendations

Although there are no strict requirements for killing it, we suggest you have high combat stats:

80+ Attack & Strength and 43+ Prayer when using Melee

80+ Ranged and 37+ Prayer when using Ranged

Melee gear setup:

Getting There

There are some methods to get to KBD's lair, and the best one is to use an amulet of burning.

Or you can use the Ghorrock teleport tablet after the OSRS quest Desert Treasure.

Once you teleport with a burning amulet or the Ghorrock Teleport tablet, run to the area of the great demon, open the gate, and climb down the ladder. Then click the lever (on the south wall) to teleport to KBD's lair.

The Fighting

Drink a dose of Extended antifire and turn on the Protect from Magic before entering KBD's lair.

Whenever getting poisoned, drink a dose of Antidote++.

KBD may drain two levels off of all your skill stats during the fighting. Drink a dose of Super restore when you need to recharge your Prayer.

If you use Melee, pray Protect from Melee during the fighting.

If you use Ranged, keep praying Protect from Mage, and don't stand within its Melee attack distance.

Drops & Profit

KBD has a 1/1500 chance to drop the Dragon pickaxe and 1/5000 for the Draconic visage. And you can make about 450K profit per hour from killing it.

If you are able to kill other bosses like Zulrah, Vorkath, and God Wars Dungeon bosses, we don't suggest you camp on it for the Dragon pickaxe and Draconic visage. Unless you want a Prince black dragon pet.
