OSRS Deadman Mode Game Re-run in May 2022

Due to the DDoS attacks, the Deadman in 2022 was late to open. No worries, the OSRS Team has improved the DDoS mitigation, and the Deadman will come to us soon.

The Date Of Deadman Re-run

The OSRS team will host the first Deadman Open Beta on 20 April (Moved to 21 April), and everyone can participate in it.

They will launch a second Beta in the following week after the first Beta, but for the players of the 2021 DMM Finale only.

If all goes well, they will re-run the Deadman in May 2022.

Brief Introduction of Deadman

Deadman is a PvP-based game mode of Old School Runescape first released on 29 October 2015. Players can access it through OSRS Client by selecting a 'Deadman' world to log in.

There are some differences between the PvP in the main game and the Deadman mode game.

In the Deadman mode game, the following minigames are not available to players: Castle Wars, Duel Arena, Fight Pits, Last Man Standing, Pest Control, Rat Pits, Soul Wars, and Trouble Brewing. So, you cannot use some unique items like Void Knight Armour.

Here are also some other disabled items and features: Bolt pouch, Minigame Teleports, Item Protection Prayer, Scrying pool, STASH units, Yanille POH Portal, Duel Arena healing. Ferox Enclave pools of refreshment and naturally occurring (not player-grown) Yew & Magic trees within safe zones are also disabled.

The Mage Training Arena, Nightmare Zone, and Tithe Farm are still accessible but give reduced or no experience points. You may still get other benefits from playing them, like the reward points.

You get 5x experiences from skill activities and minigames, and the drop rate for some rare items is increased, such as the draconic visage in the Deadman mode game.

Everywhere is dangerous, and only a few areas are 'safe' zones. However, these players standing outside of a safe area can still attack you if you are within range of their attacks.

The level 1337 guards will attack you when you try to enter the safe zones with a skull. They can hit up to 40s damage through prayer and cast the Ice Barrage & Tele Block spells.

The death punishment is also different from the main game. If other players kill you, they will receive a bank key. They can open the chest in any bank to loot your ten most valuable items. In addition, you will lose experiences following your combat level. If the NPCs kill you, it acts like a regular death in the main game without a skull. But if you are skulled, you will also lose your ten most valuable items.
