OSRS Boss - Skotizo Easy Ranged and Melee Guide
Skotizo is a level 321 darkly altared demon boss spawned in an instanced area beneath the Catacombs of Kourend.
Skotizo's Lair & More
All monsters spawned in the Catacombs of Kourend drop the Dark totem base, middle, and top in order. After collecting all three parts, you can create a Dark totem by combining them.
Teleport to the statue at Kourend Castle with the Xeric's talisman by choosing the Xeric's Heart option (Unlocked upon completion of the Architectural Alliance miniquest), and enter the Catacombs.
Then enter the Skotizo's lair using the Dark totem on the altar found in the center of the Catacombs. Be sure to turn on the Protect from Magic prayer.
Skotizo uses Slash and Magic to attack players. During the fight, Skotizo will randomly activate the four Awakened Altars, which have 100 Hitpoints each, increasing its Defence and reducing the damages players deal.
Skotizo may also summon a Dark Ankou during the fight. After losing 2/3 health, Skotizo will summon three reanimated demon spawns to attack players. Ignore them and keep fighting Skotizo.
How to Kill Skotizo
You can kill Skptizo with two methods: Ranged and Melee. You can use Arclight's special attack to lower 10% of Skotizo's Defence before fighting.
Ranged
Equip the best Ranged gears and weapons you can afford.
Withdraw a Ranging potion, 2-4 Prayer potions, 1-2 Stamina potions, Dark totem, Xeric's talisman (teleport to the Catacombs), Arclight (destroy altars), Emergency teleport, and some Sharks from your bank.
Drink a dose of Ranging potion and start fighting. Turn on the Protect from Magic prayer and keep away from its Melee attack range.
If Skotizo activates the Altars, kill the Alters with your Arclight. Then keep fighting it.
Repeat if it activates the Altars until you kill it.
Melee
Because Skotizo uses Slash and Magic attacks, wear chest and legs/skirts with high Magic Defence and use the Arclight.
Withdraw a Super combat potion, 2-4 Prayer potions, 1-2 Stamina potions, Dark totem, Xeric's talisman (teleport to the Catacombs), Arclight, Emergency teleport, and some Sharks from your bank.
Drink a dose of Super combat potion and start the fighting. Use Prayer from Melee and eat when your HP is lower.
If Skotizo activates the Altars, kill the Alters, then keep fighting it.
Drops
The average Skotizo kill is worth around 180k gold coins. It has a 100% chance to drop a Clue scroll (hard), and a 1/65 chance to drop the Skotos pet. You can also get some Ancient shard from killing it. Check more drops in the following table:
