Jagex Added the New OSRS Official Client to Jagex Launcher
Great news! Jagex has added the C++ Client to Jagex Launcher. Now you can play the OSRS game with the New Official Client.
What's the C++ Client?
The C++ Client is an official client written in C++, initially provided for players on Steam. Now Jagex has added it to Jagex Launcher. Compared with the Java Client, there are some advantages:
The game is smoother and more responsive because it runs at an uncapped frame rate.
Enhanced performance with the utilisation of GPU.
Some additional features (like RuneLite plugins) allow players to experience the game better.
How to use it?
Firstly, you need to install the Jagex Launcher. Jagex now offers the C++ Client as the standard client. You can only choose the New Official Client (C++) or RuneLite to play the game.
The only thing you need to do is install and run it via Jagex Launcher.
How about the Java Client?
You can still use the Java Client, although it will not receive client improvement updates. If you have installed it on your device, you can see the option while selecting which client you want to use via Jagex Launcher.
If you haven't installed the Java Client yet, you can click here to download it.
Without Jagex Launcher?
You can still play the OSRS game on a standalone client, Java, RuneLite, or HDOS.
What are players saying?
Of course, the first thing is an affirmation of Jagex's work.
Many players want Jagex to add HDOS to Jagex Launcher. Perhaps due to technical or other reasons, Jagex doesn't seem to have this plan yet.
Some players may think that the C++ Client is the beginning of the end of RuneLite. No worries. When a person becomes accustomed to a Client and tries to use another, they may feel uncomfortable. That is why many players ask Jagex to add HDOS to the Jagex Launcher.
If you like the new client, provide your feedback to Jagex on any issues you encounter while using it.
Happy gaming!
