Introdntroducing A New OSRS Skill - Sailing

Based on the voting and survey results, Jagex has brought three new OSRS skills for players to pick: Sailing, Taming, and Shamanism. Two skills are Utility, and the third is a mix between Production and Gathering. Today we will give you a brief introduction to Sailing.

Introduction

Sailing is a support skill letting players command their seaworthy vessel to unlock, discover, and experience new content on the seas.

All you need to do is navigate to a Port and obtain a ship, then engage in fun activities on the sea. You can explore more dangerous and exciting areas with higher Sailing levels. Sound easy.

To start your journey, you need to go to a port. Then hire, purchase, steal, or build one ship. You can command higher-quality ships with higher Sailing levels. And the quality of the ship will impact how far you can sail and how you'll fare.

Training

You can take part in various activities at sea to gain Sailing experience. The current suggestions are as follows:

Deep sea fishing (May be related to Fishing)

Hunting elusive sea creatures (May be related to Hunter)

Navigational challenges - navigate the ship across some obstacle or threat (May be related to Agility, Combat, and more skills)

Delivering packages from A to B (May be related to some skills)

Uncovering new islands to explore (May be related to some skills)

You can gain small amounts of XP by doing passive gameplay while training the skill, such as recording your adventure in the Captain's Log or dealing with random encounters.

Reward Space

By training the Sailing skill, you can own bigger, more awesome boats and access more content on the sea. Of course, it's intrinsic motivation.

You can also customize your ship and show off your Sailing achievements, similar to the Player Owned House.

The biggest expectation may be: What is there on the sea?
